Aussie rugby league fans can now enjoy the sights of the rugby league world with the arrival of a new team in Sydney
Fans of the Australian men’s national rugby league team are in for a treat with the opening of the Sydney Opera House.
The Aussie women’s team has already played its first game at the venue, and the club will begin a tour to promote the sport with a special exhibition match in the Sydney CBD next week.
There will be an open bar for the first of three games on Saturday and Sunday, and on Saturday night a special screening of the blockbuster movie, Gladiator, will be held.
Fans will be able to watch the action live on television in the Opera House’s lobby and on a dedicated Facebook page, with the Aussie team aiming to raise $100,000 for the Red Cross.
The NRL is also hoping to bring a number of other events to the area, including a series of charity rugby league events on the first Friday of each month, starting on May 11.
In the meantime, there will be plenty of opportunity for Sydney-based Aussie fans to enjoy the city’s best attractions in the form of a few of the world’s best rugby league matches.
With the opening, the Aussies will become the sixth team to visit the city.
