‘Baggy’ jeans, belt squat sushi at the new Tokyo-style sushi bar
A sushi bar in Tokyo is trying to capture the taste of a Japanese restaurant by serving sushi with a baggy jeans look and a belt squat look.
The Tokyo Style has opened in Ginza, Tokyo’s main shopping area, and is billed as a sushi bar for men and women, with the menu featuring sushi rolls topped with a sushi roll.
The sushi menu comes with an assortment of dishes such as shoyu (sushi rice), nigiri (fish), miso (sour cream) and other Japanese favorites.
“Japanese food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world, and I wanted to serve a menu that was more like Japanese culture, which is more suited for men,” Yoshio Kobayashi, co-founder and owner of Tokyo Style, told Bloomberg.
In an effort to appeal to men, the menu also includes items such as miso soup, miso-dried salmon and miso sushi rolls.
Yoshio Kobaysashi, the co-founders of Tokyo style, says the menu is designed for men.
